Corporate Actions

Designed to provide participants with a comprehensive overview of Corporate Actions relating to debt and equity – what they are, where they originate and why they happen – together with a detailed exploration of each action and the impact it has on the company and the shareholder.

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Appreciate the timescales, action and relevant calculations required for each action
  • Understand the roles played by registrars, clearing houses and custodians
  • Understand the need for proactive management of corporate actions by investors
  • Differentiate between actions which impact the balance sheet, those which impact income and expense, and those which affect both e.g. scrip dividends

Who will benefit?

Primarily aimed at those with some experience and a basic awareness of equity and bond markets, who are active in dealer support/settlements. Also suitable for anyone who needs an appreciation of corporate actions to better fulfil their own role – e.g. front office, client support, systems and financial staff. Ideal for those who require an understanding of the subject matter at an early stage in their career in finance – or where finance is not their primary responsibility.
